The Ponoare tree has medium-strong or strong growth vigor and forms a broad pyramidal crown. It enters into bearing in the 5–6th year after planting; the yield is formed mainly on bouquet branches.

Fruits with an average weight of 5.5–6.5 g have a dark red color and semi-firm juicy flesh. The dry matter content in the juice is about 17%. The variety is suitable for cultivation in intensive orchards when grafted onto sweet cherry or sour cherry rootstocks.

The ripening period falls at the end of May – beginning of June. Cerna, Stella, Hedelfinger and Bigarreau Moreau are recommended as pollinator varieties.
