The variety was bred at the Julius Kühn Institute (JKI) in Dresden-Pillnitz by breeder Mirko Schuster. Genetically, the variety is identified by S-alleles as S6S9 and is sometimes referred to in documentation under the breeding number PiSue 194.

The fruit ripening period belongs to the mid-season group and occurs approximately 10 days after the ripening of the Burlat variety. Detailed agronomic characteristics, including tree vigor and fruit quality indicators, are currently not presented in open publications.
