The variety originates from the Macedonia region in Greece and is characterized by high chilling requirements. In the Mediterranean climate, flowering occurs in the second ten-day period of April. Genetically, the variety is self-incompatible with S2S4 or S3S4 genotypes, depending on the clone.
The fruits are distinguished by a dense texture, which ensures good transportability and long-term storage. The variety is used as a table cultivar, although in comparative studies the fruits demonstrate relatively low color index values.
