The rootstock was bred to reduce tree vigor; in its parameters, it is close to the Gisela 5 rootstock. The plant promotes early bearing of grafted varieties and ensures high yield.
A distinctive feature of the rootstock is the almost complete absence of root suckers. Genetically, Crawford is a hybrid that exhibits good compatibility with various sour and sweet cherry varieties.
