Fercadeu, known under the trade name Pontaris®, is a breeding rootstock for sweet cherry developed as a result of the work of the INRA institute. It originates from seeds of the V 1813 family obtained from open pollination.
This rootstock is characterized by regular growth, comparable in vigor to sweet cherry seedlings, and a low ability for root sucker formation. It is suitable for cultivation on various soil types, except for areas with a risk of waterlogging and root system asphyxia.
