Variety description

10 August 2026

The term is used to designate a historically established group of cherries, often as a synonym for the Ostheimer type or forms close to it, which are classified as so-called press cherries. These are old cultivated forms capable of easy propagation by root suckers, with their seedlings retaining the characteristics of the mother type.

Literature lacks data on fixed morphological or economic characteristics of this type, as a mixture of various local forms may be hidden under the general name. Currently, the term is more often mentioned in the context of preserving cultural heritage, traditional gardening, and a regional brand.
