The variety was bred under the sweet cherry breeding program of the French National Institute for Agricultural Research and is intended for commercial cultivation. It belongs to the late-ripening group and was one of the first four varieties released by the institute during this breeding program.
The plant is self-incompatible, as it has the S1S6 genetic type, which makes the presence of pollinator varieties mandatory. The fruits underwent a comprehensive evaluation, including organoleptic tests and biochemical analysis of sugar, acid, and phenolic compound content.
