The Łutówka tree has medium vigor, reaching a height of 2.5–4 meters depending on the rootstock. The crown is typically rounded or broad-pyramidal, of medium density, prone to branch bareness and requires rejuvenating pruning. The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and bud resistance to spring frosts, but shows sensitivity to Coccomyces hiemalis and Monilinia.
The fruits ripen in late July or early August. They reach a weight of 4–9 grams, have a dark red, almost black color and juicy sweet-and-sour flesh. The variety is self-fertile and is valued as a processing cultivar, suitable for freezing and the production of juices, jams, and compotes, while possessing good transportability.
