The Łutówka variety, also known under the names Schattenmorello or English Morello, is an old variety of unknown origin. It is the main standard for commercial orchards, suitable for freezing, juice production, and use in the confectionery industry.
The fruits are large, dark cherry-colored with a sour taste. The tree usually reaches a height of 3–4 meters depending on the rootstock. The variety matures in late July — early August and possesses high winter hardiness, withstanding temperature drops down to -35°C, although it is sensitive to fungal infections.
