The tree has medium vigor. A morphological feature of the variety is the formation of fruit almost exclusively on spurs, which are short fruiting twigs.

The variety is intended for both fresh consumption and industrial processing. The fruit contains biologically active compounds, including anthocyanins and polyphenols. The variety is characterized by high susceptibility to fruit cracking when exposed to rain.

The variety is often used in genetic studies of Prunus cerasus as a reference sample.
