10 August 2026
The variety formed as a local landrace originating from the steppe cherry. The plant develops in the form of a shrub and is prone to active formation of root suckers, which appear from approximately five years of age. The variety is adapted to the climate of its region and prefers clay-calcareous soils.
The fruits of the variety are characterized by a round, slightly flattened shape and small size with a weight of 1.6–3.3 grams. They are distinguished by an intense dark red or burgundy color of the skin, flesh, and juice, which is due to a high content of anthocyanins. The taste qualities are described as pronounced, slightly acidic and tart, with a strong aroma.
Harvesting of fruits for consumption is carried out in July. The variety has a universal purpose and is widely used in industrial processing for creating juices, jams, and desserts due to its rich color and taste.
