The variety is of accidental origin and is genetically identical to a number of other varieties, such as Heimanns Konserven-Weichsel and Leopoldskirsche, forming a single group with them. The trees are characterized by medium vigor and good branching.
The fruits are oblate-round, medium to large in size, and dark red in color. The ripening period occurs approximately one week before the Schattenmorelle variety. The variety is susceptible to bacterial canker Pseudomonas syringae, but is valued in breeding for transmitting the ability for self-fertility to its progeny.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
