The variety is an old landrace known since the 16th century and has a number of synonyms, including Brněnská, Špička, Berneirská, and Špendlíček modrý. The tree grows vigorously at a young age, later growth slows down, forming a conical or spherical crown.
The variety is self-fertile and distinguished by high yield. The fruits are small, oblong in shape, dark blue with a waxy bloom. The flesh is greenish-yellow, juicy, sweet-tasting, and the stone separates well. Mature fruits are prone to shedding.
The plant is frost-resistant and suitable for cultivation in cool climatic conditions. The variety shows tolerance to Plum pox virus (PPV).
