Variety description

10 August 2026

The plant is a historically established local form, not a modern breeding variety. It usually presents as a tree or large shrub 2 to 7 meters tall with a branched crown and sometimes thorny shoots. The plants are most often own-rooted.

Fruits ripen in August–September, are dark blue in color, about 2–3 cm in size, and have tart-sweet yellow flesh; the stone separates poorly. The plant is winter-hardy, withstands temperatures down to -20...-25°C, is undemanding to soil, and is resistant to diseases.

Used for creating ecological hedges, windbreaks, and as a honey plant. The harvest is used in cooking for making jams, jellies, juices, liqueurs, and cordials.
