The name encompasses a multitude of regional plum types common in Europe, such as Hauszwetschge, Pozegaca, and Besztercei. Genetically, it belongs to the group Prunus domestica subsp. domestica and is considered valuable genetic material for traditional horticulture.
The trees are characterized by vigorous growth and can reach a height of 6–10 meters. The fruits have an oblong or ovoid shape, dark blue skin, and yellow or greenish-yellow flesh. They are characterized by high sugar content, retain their shape well during heat treatment, and are suitable for the preparation of prunes, jams, and distillates.
The variety group possesses general hardiness, yet it is sensitive to stone fruit diseases, in particular, to fruit tree canker. Due to its origin in folk selection, the characteristics of individual clones may vary slightly depending on the region of cultivation.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
