The variety is an old cultivar of Prunus domestica, widespread in Central Europe. The tree is vigorous, has a compact crown with thin branches, and reaches 4 meters in height by the age of 10 years. The plant is self-fertile and characterized by high productivity with a slow onset of bearing.
The fruits have an oblong-oval shape with a pointed end, covered with purple-blue or reddish-purple skin with a waxy bloom. The flesh is firm, greenish-yellow in color, possesses a balanced sweet-sour taste, and separates well from the pit. The fruits ripen in September and are prone to dropping in extreme heat.
