The variety is the earliest representative of the prune plum group. It was first presented at an exhibition in Baden-Baden in 1896. The fruits are characterized by their rather large size and blue-violet color with a pronounced bloom.
The fruit flesh has a delicate texture, sweet taste, and aroma. The variety is suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for making jam and other types of culinary processing.
