The vigorous tree forms a broad, often spreading or weeping crown with dense branching. Harvest takes place from mid-August to early September. Fruits are medium-sized, round-oval in shape, dark blue or dark purple in color with an intense blue bloom. The firm, juicy flesh is golden-yellow or yellow-green and separates well from the pit.
The variety is self-fertile, although the presence of pollinators contributes to increased yield. The tree is characterized by high winter hardiness, withstanding temperatures down to -30°C, but shows susceptibility to Plum pox virus (sharka). It is prone to alternate bearing; under heavy crop load, fruits become smaller. Used for fresh consumption, culinary processing, and as a rootstock for other varieties.
