The variety originates from the vicinity of the city of Łowicz. The fruits are characterized by yellow, firm, and juicy flesh; the fruit skin is dark blue covered with an intense blue waxy bloom. The variety is intended for making plum butter and for fresh consumption.
The trees are characterized by high yield and are prone to biennial bearing. The variety is sensitive to the Plum pox virus (Sharka). Currently, it is often used as a pollinator for other plum varieties.
