The vigorous tree forms a wide crown from 4 to 6 meters in height. The medium-sized fruits have dark blue or purple skin with an intense light blue waxy bloom. The flesh is greenish-yellow or reddish-yellow in shade, juicy, and of medium density.
Ripening occurs from mid-August to early September. The variety has a sweet taste with spicy notes; the stone separates well from the flesh. The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, drying, baking, and processing. The variety is self-fertile, undemanding to soils, and characterized by high winter hardiness of flowers and wood.
The variety name is often used to designate a popular seed rootstock. As a rootstock, the variety is valued for its dwarfing habit, good anchorage, high winter hardiness, and excellent compatibility with other plum varieties.
