The rootstock is a clone of the species Prunus canescens. Trees grafted onto it are characterized by early entry into fruit bearing and high productivity. Plants of this type possess good winter hardiness, but tolerate excessively wet soils poorly.

There is a physiological incompatibility of the rootstock with a number of sweet cherry varieties, for example, the Summit variety. In unfavorable soil conditions, in particular on heavy calcareous soils, tree mortality is possible.
