The Pixy rootstock is used to limit tree growth by approximately 30% compared to vigorous rootstocks. Its use promotes earlier onset of fruit bearing in plants.
The plant possesses resistance to bacterial canker. The use of this rootstock may contribute to an increase in sugar concentration in the fruit, however, it may have an effect on fruit size in some varieties.
