The rootstock is low-vigor and allows trees to reach approximately 50–65% of the size of those grafted onto vigorous rootstocks. The use of this rootstock stimulates early onset of fruit bearing and good yield; however, under high crop load, fruit size may decrease, making thinning necessary.
The plant is resistant to bacterial canker. Due to a less robust root system compared to vigorous counterparts, trees are sensitive to drought and often require permanent support or staking to prevent leaning and uprooting caused by wind.
The rootstock is intended for creating compact trees suitable for intensive horticulture, cultivation in home gardens, and container growing.
