The rootstock is the result of a breeding program in Dresden-Pillnitz. It is used as a dwarf or semi-dwarf rootstock, allowing for a 30–45% reduction in tree vigor compared to Prunus avium seedlings, as well as increasing the yield of the scion.
The plant is highly compatible with sweet cherry varieties and demonstrates high adaptability to light, dry, and sandy soils. The rootstock does not produce many root suckers and is characterized by high winter hardiness and resistance to PDV and PNRSV viruses.
