P-HL-A is a dwarf or dwarfing rootstock for sweet and sour cherries. It contributes to increased productivity of grafted trees compared to a number of other rootstocks, such as F 12/1.

The rootstock exhibits resistance to bacterial canker. The object is propagated by in vitro tissue culture methods, as well as by softwood and hardwood cuttings.
