The variety is named after the Danish Hofjægermester Alexander Brun, who was engaged in the breeding of fruit trees on his estate. The variety was obtained by him in 1862.

Open agronomic reference books lack detailed data on the economic and biological characteristics of the tree, its resistance to diseases, as well as descriptions of fruit quality, maturation periods, and yield indicators.

This variety was intended for home gardening and is mentioned today in lists of collection orchards exclusively as an object of historical interest.
