The Aljanka variety is a local heirloom pear variety. Genetic analysis shows that it differs significantly from classic cultivated varieties, such as Williams or Conference.
The trees of the variety are vigorous and possess increased resistance, thanks to which they do not require chemical treatments. The variety is traditionally used as a local genetic resource adapted to growing conditions in the Goriška region.
