The variety belongs to the group of winter pears. Fruits ripen in the period from late September to mid-October. In refrigerated storage with a normal atmosphere, the harvest retains commercial quality until March–April.

The variety is characterized by susceptibility to fire blight, which has been an obstacle to its widespread commercial cultivation.
