The variety is an accidental seedling form discovered in England in the second half of the 18th century. The tree grows vigorously in its youth, forming an ovoid-conical crown prone to thickening. It enters fruit-bearing early, in the 2–4th year after planting, demonstrating regular high yield.
Fruits with a mass of 130–200 g have a pear-like or ovoid shape with an uneven surface. The thin skin changes color from greenish-yellow to intense yellow upon ripening. The creamy-white juicy flesh has a buttery consistency, wine-sweet taste, and a characteristic muscat aroma.
The variety is self-sterile and requires pollinators. The plant is characterized by sensitivity to severe frost and susceptibility to scab and fire blight. The fruits are used both fresh and for processing into juices, preserves, and alcoholic beverages.
