Variety description

10 August 2026

Fruits of this variety are characterized by their small size, rounded shape, and juiciness. The skin is predominantly yellow, sometimes with a pink blush on the sunny side. The variety matures at the end of July.

The plant possesses a pronounced ability for fruit set without pollination and can serve as a pollinator for other varieties, including Rocha. The soluble solids content in the fruits exceeds 14 °Brix, with fructose being the main sugar.

The variety is intended for fresh consumption, but is considered a promising raw material for the food industry. The name Carapinheira may encompass a group of similar forms or subspecies, such as Carapinheira Branca and Carapinheira Roxa.
