Fruits are large, pyramidal in shape, with a somewhat uneven contour. The skin is dark greenish-yellow in color with a bright red blush on the side exposed to light.
Flesh is white, fine, delicate, melting, without stone cells, distinguished by juiciness and a pronounced anise aroma. The fruit ripening period occurs in September–October.
Seeds in the fruits are often underdeveloped. The variety is considered a dessert variety; the first mention of it dates back to 1600 in the work of Olivier de Serres.
