The Romanian Corina variety was bred through interspecific hybridization. The trees are characterized by medium vigor and good compatibility with quince rootstocks. The variety is distinguished by high productivity, resistance to scab, and tolerance to fire blight; it is intended for fresh consumption.
The European Corina variety is a mutant of the Conference variety, also known as Vroege Saels. It retains the taste characteristics and fruit shape of the original variety but is distinguished by earlier ripening times.
