GENTILE, sometimes referred to as Gentile Bianca, is an old Italian pear variety. The variety belongs to early maturing types and is grown in a number of regions as a niche crop.

In agronomy, the variety is used not only for obtaining fruits consumed fresh, but also as a pollinator for other pear varieties. Due to its genetic significance and disease resistance, the variety is actively used in breeding work as a source of valuable traits.
