Variety description

10 August 2026

The Général Leclerc tree has medium vigor, reaching a height of 2.5–3 m. The crown has a pyramidal shape, which can become more spreading during the fruiting period. The variety is well compatible with quince rootstock, on which it begins to bear fruit 2–4 years after planting.

The fruits have a regular pear shape and a weight from 150 to 320 g. The skin is yellow-brown or bronze-brown in color, often with a blush. The flesh is yellowish-white, juicy, buttery and tender, distinguished by a dessert taste with sweetness and slight acidity.

Fruit harvest occurs in mid-September, with consumer maturity reached 2–3 weeks after picking. The variety shows good resistance to diseases, particularly to fire blight, and winter hardiness down to -33°С. Intended for fresh consumption, canning and processing.
