The variety is an old traditional European variety discovered in 1760 in France and is widely distributed in the Balkans. The tree is medium or vigorous, characterized by high longevity, resistance to drought and late frosts, but shows sensitivity to scab and fire blight.

The fruits have an elongated pear-shaped form, thick greenish-yellow skin with a characteristic rust-colored stripe. The flesh is white, juicy. The variety is not self-fertile; suitable pollinators include Viljamovka, Carmen, Conference, and others. Fruits ripen in early October and possess good keeping quality; they are suitable for fresh consumption and processing.
