ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN
10 August 2026
The tree is vigorous; at a young age, the crown has a pyramidal shape, which becomes spreading with age. The fruits are medium to large in size and obtuse-conical in shape. The main color of the skin is greenish-yellow with a brownish-red overcolor. The flesh is yellowish-white, firm, sweet-and-sour, with a low content of stone cells.
Autumn variety; the consumption period of the fruits falls in September, and the shelf life is several weeks. The variety is self-fertile and comes into bearing in the fifth year after planting. The tree is characterized by good resistance to scab; winter hardiness is satisfactory.
The fruits are suitable for making compotes and are considered among the best of the local varieties for drying. Samples of the variety are preserved at the Polli Horticultural Research Centre; the variety is also used in breeding programs.
