CH 201
ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN
10 August 2026
The variety forms vigorous and long-lived trees with a dense crown, which enter fruiting at approximately the eighth year when grown on seed rootstock. The trees are distinguished by high winter hardiness of flowers and wood, which allows them to be successfully grown in mountainous regions, as well as good resistance to diseases, including scab.
The fruits are small to medium in size, flat-round in shape, with a deep red skin. The flesh has a pinkish or reddish tint, particularly pronounced around the core. The taste of the fruits is sweet, slightly spicy. The variety is self-sterile and requires the presence of other pears for cross-pollination.
Ripening occurs in the second half of August, the consumption period lasts about a week. Due to rapid over-ripening, the fruits are not intended for long-term storage, therefore the main sphere of their use is processing: drying, making fruit butter, and manufacturing beverages.
