The variety is a traditional cultivar historically distributed in the regions of Southern Italy, including Campania, Molise, Apulia, Basilicata, and Calabria. The fruits are used for both fresh consumption and various types of home processing, including jam making.

The tree is characterized by low vigor. The fruits are small, weighing about 70 g, have a spheroidal shape and a long peduncle. The skin is yellow with a golden hue on the sunny side; the flesh is yellowish, granular, and moderately juicy.

The variety is classified as late-summer or early-autumn; the fruits ripen in early September. The variety is considered rare; there is no data on disease resistance in the sources.
