The variety is also known under the names Gnocco, Gnocco di Parma, and Brutta e Buona, which translates as 'ugly but good'. The tree has medium vigor and a semi-open branching type; flowering occurs in mid-late periods.

The fruits are distinguished by cream-colored flesh and pronounced granularity. The variety is intended primarily for fresh consumption and is found in regions of Italy, in particular in the piedmont zone of Veneto and the province of Belluno.
