Harvesting of this variety is carried out from late August to early September. The fruits are ready for consumption a few days after picking. In documentation, the variety is also referred to by the synonym Strozzapreti.

The variety has a storage capacity of 3–4 weeks at room temperature and up to several months in a refrigerator. The fruits are used for both fresh consumption and processing, including the production of alcoholic distillates.

This variety is autochthonous and does not belong to products of modern breeding. It represents historical and genetic value for the Casentino region, traditionally grown within family farms.
