CH 201
ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN
10 August 2026
The variety is very old, with its age estimated at 400–500 years. The tree is vigorous, forms a large broad-pyramidal or spherical crown up to 10 meters in diameter, and reaches a height of more than 10 meters. It is suitable for cultivation as high-stem trees and is characterized by a high lifespan on vigorous rootstocks.
The fruits ripen in the second half of August, have a conical or pear-shaped form, and a weight of 65–80 g. The skin is thick, often rough and russeted; the flesh is soft and juicy, with a sweet spicy flavor with notes of cinnamon. The storage period of the fruits is short, amounting to about two weeks.
The plant is undemanding, resistant to canker, weakly susceptible to scab, and moderately susceptible to moniliosis, while possessing average resistance to low temperatures. Due to its characteristics, the variety is versatile in use, suitable both for fresh consumption and for drying, production of jams, wines, and distillates.
