The Bela tepka variety is a landrace that has been preserved in traditional meadow orchards of Slovenia. It belongs to the category of local varieties and is valued as an important genetic resource requiring conservation.
Fruits ripen in the period from the last ten days of August to the beginning of September. The variety is intended primarily for processing, in particular for drying fruits or preparing beverages. Plants are adapted to local climatic conditions and are traditionally grown using an extensive method without intensive use of pesticides.
