The plant reaches a height of 60–120 cm with a clump width of up to 120–200 cm. The color of the stalks varies from red at the base to light green with red speckles; the flesh is predominantly green, sometimes with a reddish tint. The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness.
The variety is one of the earliest and is considered one of the best for forcing, allowing for harvests in February indoors and in March in the open field. It possesses universal culinary applications and good disease resistance.
