The variety is an evergreen, compact, rounded shrub with good branching. At ten years of age, the plant height reaches 1.5 m; mature specimens grow to 1.5–2 m. The leaves are dark green, lanceolate in shape, and reach 12–14 cm in length.

Large rounded inflorescences include 17 to 20 bright pink flowers with dark speckles on the upper petals. The flowering period lasts 2–3 weeks, starting in mid-June. The plant requires acidic, well-drained soils and is sensitive to waterlogging, while possessing high frost resistance.
