The variety is a compact and dense evergreen shrub. At the age of 10 years, the plant reaches a height of about 60 cm with a crown width of 60 to 100 cm. The leaves are green, shiny, and elliptical in shape.

The cherry-red flowers have a funnel-bell shape with ruffled petal edges. The inflorescences are conical and include 6 to 10 flowers. The flowering period occurs between mid-May and mid-June.

The plant possesses high winter hardiness, withstanding frosts down to –32 °C. The variety is demanding regarding planting conditions: in the spring period, the foliage is susceptible to sunscald, so placement in partial shade or in areas with high snow cover is recommended. It is used in landscape design and container cultivation.
