The flowers of the HORT40 variety have a diameter of 2–2.5 cm, are characterized by a simple structure and the presence of a sweet aroma. The leaves of the plant are elongated in shape, the leaf surface is pubescent, and the margin has a serrated structure.

The variety is characterized by moderate winter hardiness, corresponding to USDA zone 7. The plant does not require a high degree of soil fertility for its development.
