The mature plant reaches a height and width of 1.2–1.5 m. The leaves are dark green, 8–11 cm long, with yellowish-gray tomentose pubescence on the underside and young shoots. The flowers are funnel-shaped, gathered in dense dome-shaped inflorescences of 8–12, and have red-orange spotting on the upper petal.
Flowering occurs in late spring to early summer. The variety is capable of withstanding temperatures down to -29...-34°C and exhibits resistance to Verticillium wilt. The plant requires acidic, humus-rich soils, does not tolerate waterlogging well, and is sensitive to bright spring sun.
