The variety is a branched shrub with a dense rounded or oval crown. Large elliptical leaves have a reddish hue when unfurling in spring, then become dark green and glossy. An adult plant reaches 1.5–1.7 m in height with a crown diameter of up to 1.8 m.
Flowering begins in late May or early June. The plant forms dense inflorescences of 12–18 funnel-shaped flowers 6–8 cm in diameter. The flower color is light pink, with wavy edges and a characteristic orange spot with dark burgundy speckles inside.
The plant has high winter hardiness, withstanding temperatures from -35°C to -40°C, and is resistant to diseases, including Verticillium wilt. The shrub requires acidic, well-drained soils, prefers partial shade and protection from desiccating winds.
