The Hachneg variety, also known under the commercial name Negligé, is a Japanese azalea with a compact and wide crown. By the age of ten, the plant reaches dimensions of approximately 0.5 m in height and 0.8 m in width. The leaves are semi-evergreen, have an elliptical or obovate shape, a light green shade, and a slight luster.
Flowers with a diameter of up to 5 cm have a wide or tubular-funnel shape with wavy petal edges. The bud color is pink; upon opening, they become light pink with gradual fading, a yellowish center, and a pink border. On the upper petals, there are spots that change color from greenish to reddish. Flowering occurs at the turn of May and June.
The plant possesses winter hardiness down to –20 °C and develops optimally in partial shade conditions. The compact dimensions of the variety allow it to be used for planting in rock gardens and group compositions.
