The plant is a dense, compact evergreen shrub with leathery dark green leaves of elliptical shape. Plant height varies from compact forms up to 40 cm to large specimens about 1.8 meters in height.
The funnel-shaped flowers have ruffled petal edges; buds are characterized by an intense carmine color. Flowering occurs in May. The variety is intended for group plantings, hedges, and container cultivation.
The plant belongs to hardiness zone 7b and requires protection from severe frosts in cold regions. For normal development, the variety requires acidic, well-drained soil.
